Support Girls Education In Offa, Kwara State of Nigeria

Many of the girls in this town are not encouraged to get education due to poverty and inability to purchase all needed materials to thrive in school.

This project an initiative of our The Super Girl Project and is mobilizing over 500 girls to school in the North Central town of Kwara State in Nigeria.

Many of the girls in this town are not encouraged to get education due to poverty and inability to purchase all needed materials to thrive in class.

This project will support our Girls Scholarship program, mentoring program and other girls’ development programs, activities and needs of the organisation that ensures increased enrollment, retention and completion rates of girls in primary and post primary schools.

Nigeria Digest of Education Statistics (NDES), indicates that more than 10 million children are out of school, and about 60 per cent of these out-of-school children are girls. Furthermore, with a completion rate of 64%, 39% and 29% for girls in primary, junior secondary and senior secondary school respectively, many girls who do enroll drop out early. While education indicators are low nationwide, they continue to remain weakest in the North-East, West and Central zones of the country

The project seeks to facilitate sustainable and innovative interventions that improve access to quality and inclusive education for girls in Offa, Kwara State.

We will provide scholarship, mentorship/career guidance for 500 girls annually to build sustainable, independent futures-ensuring they are not vulnerable to violence and abuse. The girls will be supported with Tuition and exam fee, text and exercise books, uniforms, bags, socks, shoe, sanitary pads, transport fair and other needs of girls.

The main objectives of this Project includes

1. increased access to quality education for girls in primary and post primary school

2. Improved Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) among girls.

3. Effective mentorship support towards personal and professional development of girl

4. Influencing policies and advocating with Government stakeholders to take the education of girls with seriousness and ensuring sustainability of girl child education and empowerment initiatives in Nigeria and beyond.
